The $110,000 Group 3 Kranji Sprint (1200m) is the first Leg of the newly named STC Super Sprint Series that replaces the former Singapore Sprint Series, which was discontinued in 2019.
Known as the Kranji Sprint since its first edition in 2000 until 2016, the last edition of the race was won by the Stephen Gray-trained Emperor Max, following which it was renamed the Group 3 Rocket Man Sprint (1200m) in 2017 and held for three years.
This year, the Rocket Man Sprint will also return as the second Leg in the STC Super Sprint Series, while the jewel in the crown and the final and third Leg will be the Group 1 Lion City Cup (1200m).
