SINGAPORE TURF CLUB (STC) APPOINTS NEW CHIEF STIPENDIARY STEWARD

 

We regretfully announce the resignation of Mr Terence Bailey as Chief Stipendiary Steward, effective 22 October 2020. Since Terry joined Singapore Turf Club in August 2018, he has been a valuable and well-respected member of the team. His work and contributions, including the development of equine drug testing strategies, are greatly appreciated. 

 

The Club thanks Mr Bailey for his contributions. It has been a wonderful opportunity for many at the club to work with such a dedicated and passionate professional. We wish him well in his future endeavours.

 

Mr John Davidson will take over as Chief Stipendiary Steward - Designate from 1 October 2020, to facilitate handover and transition into his new role. Mr Davidson brings with him almost 20 years of leadership experience in stipendiary and most recently was Chief Stipendiary Steward at Southern District Racing Association, New South Wales.

 

We welcome Mr Davidson to his new role as Chief Stipendiary from 23 October 2020 and look forward to having him lead the stipendiary team.

Founded in 1842, Singapore Turf Club (STC) is the oldest existing and only horse racing club in Singapore with world-class horse racing sports facilities. It is a proprietary club of the Singapore Totalisator Board, to manage and operate horse racing at the Singapore Racecourse at Kranji.

 

With 178 years of history, STC provides the public with quality horse racing as sports entertainment at the Singapore Racecourse on most Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons throughout the year. STC regularly opens its premises and hosts a wide range of community, lifestyle, and recreational activities for members of the pubic to enjoy as part of its contributions to the community. In addition, surplus from its operations are channeled to the Singapore Totalisator Board to fund causes in the following sectors, social service, community development, sports, the arts, education, and health.
