Formerly known as the Singapore Derby Trial since its inception in 2000, the $110,000 Group 3 Fortune Bowl (1400m) was renamed from 2010 to usher in the Chinese New Year.
The race first ran over 2000m in 2010, transitioned to 1600m in 2017 and has run at 1400m since 2018. The last edition of the Fortune Bowl run in 2020 was won by Bold Thruster with Vladimir Duric atop.
