SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY ‘RDA 30th ANNIVERSARY CUP’, SUNDAY, 9 DECEMBER 2012

As part of the Singapore Turf Club’s efforts to support the community, the Club has provided Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore (RDA), with the platform to raise much needed funds on Sunday, 9 December 2012. The RDA targets to raise $60,000 from the event through the sale of lunch tables and donations. The Guest-of-Honour will be Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth as well as Mayor for Central Singapore District. Mr Sam Tan will be presenting the prizes for the RDA 30th Anniversary Cup.

Commented Mr Yu Pang Fey, President & Chief Executive, Singapore Turf Club, “STC, an advocate of CSR is delighted to provide the platform for RDA to raise funds to provide therapeutic horse riding lessons to people with disabilities. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate RDA on its 30th anniversary.”

Mr Eugene Yong, Honorary Chairman of RDA Singapore said, “RDA is grateful to the Singapore Turf Club for supporting this fundraising event. We rely solely on donations and fundraising events such as this to support our unique form of therapeutic riding programmes for people with disability. This is the sixth Race Day that we are partnering the Singapore Turf Club in this effort and we hope that we will be able to continue this event annually as one of our main fundraisers.  It is RDA 30th anniversary this year and special thanks must also go to our sponsors for the support over the years.”

In addition to the RDA 30th Anniversary Cup, other racing highlights that afternoon will be the Nippon PaintStakes and ANZA Action Stakes.
