The $110,000 Group 3 Rocket Man Sprint (1200m) first raced in 2017 in honour of Singapore’s world-famous sprinter, Rocket Man. Retired in December 2016, Rocket Man was the first Singapore-based galloper to win an International race, the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen (1200m) in 2011.
Rocket Man Sprint was held for three years to 2019. Not only is the race making a comeback this year, it is returning as the second Leg in the STC Super Sprint series, which kicked off with the Group 3 Kranji Sprint (1200m) and culminates with the Group 1 Lion City Cup (1200m).
The last edition of the Rocket Man Sprint was won by the Shane Baertschiger-trained Bold Thruster in 2019.
