RACE 4 [TF310]
INITIATION-2 POLYTRACK 1200M
WHIRLRUNNER (R Stewart) was slow to begin.
WHYDOYOUASK (D Beasley) and SANDRA (J Saimee) bumped on jumping.
Near the 800m, SECARA (M Au) checked when racing to the inside of
ROCKET RULER (H Samsir). At a subsequent Inquiry, Jockey Samsir pleaded
guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near
the 800m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear,
thereby resulting in SECARA having to check. When deciding on penalty, the
Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, degree of interference,
carelessness and submissions from Jockey Samsir that he has been engaged
to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Friday, 04 March 2011 and Perak
Race Meetings on Saturday 05 March 2011 and Sunday, 06 March 2011. The
Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under
MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin
on Monday, 07 March 2011 until Saturday, 19 March 2011 both dates
inclusive (five Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
Shortly after passing the 800m, SILENT POWER (J Moreira) checked when
racing to the inside of SANDRA. JACK THE BULL (YF Leong) and PLAY ON (V
Duric), which were following, also had to check in consequence. An Inquiry
into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.
WHYDOYOUASK raced wide from the 800m.
SPIRIT NATURE (J Powell) raced wide from the 600m.
Passing the 300m, SPIRIT NATURE shifted inwards obliging its rider to stop
riding and straighten his mount.
SNOOP DOG (S Cormack), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a
1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race
again.
Jockey Samsir, the rider of ROCKET RULER, reported that his horse was not
striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the
horse returned lame near-fore. ROCKET RULER will be required to pass a
1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race
again.
