NORTHERN SUN
Restless in the barrier. Trainer D Koh was warned and advised to improve its barrier manners.
Rider, when questioned regarding the gelding performing below market expectation, stated that his mount became unbalanced rounding the hometurn, losing its action for a short distance. He added that near the 300m, his whip became entangled in his reins, which he dropped for a short distance when getting his whip free. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. Will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

TAICHI BELT
Bumped on jumping.
Clipped heels near the 600m.

N Juglall, the rider of NORTHERN SUN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 600m, after his mount shifted outwards, he then directed his mount back into a position that no longer was his, causing TAICHI BELT (App I Amirul) to clip heels and almost fall. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Juglall was suspended from riding in races with effect from Saturday, 09 February 2019 to Sunday, 17 February 2019 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
