RACE 4 (R1266)
KRISTHUNDER, a course scratching as it had sustained bruising to its right knee, will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
SECRETARIAT PRINCE which was up 17kgs in body weight and NOBLE ONE which was down 15kgs in body weight since their last runs, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
ROYAL BEST which reared in the barrier, jumped very awkwardly with its head up and thereafter was slow to begin, will be required to pass a test (starting stall) before being entered to race again.
MAYOS DANCER commenced to race keen and proved difficult to settle between the 1200M to the 600M.
NOBLE ONE was obliged to race wide on the bend.
At about the 400M, REICHSMARK switched out over the heels of ALL GOOD to obtain a clear run.
CROCODILE DUNDEE was a little slow to begin, was obliged to race wide on the bend and drifted in from the 200M to the finish.
JOINT EFFORT drifted out under pressure in the concluding stages.
NOBLE ONE, ALL GOOD and CROCODILE DUNDEE which all raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
Jockey C Goon, the rider of ROYAL BEST, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ROYAL BEST revealed that it was lame near fore and cast its near fore plate. The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet after a 1-month embargo) before being entered to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of BEST HONOUR and MAGIC SMILEY revealed that both horses were lame off fore and as such will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of MAYOS DANCER revealed no obvious abnormality.
