STIPE'S REPORT RACE 3 [TF1074] CLASS 4 1200M DIVISION 2 Prior to the running of Race 3, the going was upgraded to good. WILLIAMS (J Saimee) was difficult to be loaded. Trainer L Laxon was advised that a warning has been placed on WILLIAMS regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future. DARING SPLENDOUR (O Chavez) was fractious in the barrier. In view of its previous record and as DARING SPLENDOUR is a repeat offender, it will be barred from racing or entering for a test trial for a period of fourteen days, after which it must pass two consecutive starting stall tests. LIGHTNING ACE (YF Leong) and DARING SPLENDOUR both began awkwardly. GEORGIE BOY (D Beasley) and SMART ASSASSIN (App M Yap) bumped on jumping. Shorty after the start, LUCKY SUN (App J See) shifted outwards and took DARING SPLENDOUR out onto the hind-quarters of SMART ASSASSIN. As a result, DARING SPLENDOUR had to be steadied. LIGHTNING ACE overraced in the early stages. Near the 800m, DARING SPLENDOUR steadied when crowded for room by VERANO (S Sam), which shifted inwards slightly. WILLIAMS had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight. VERANO hung inwards in the homestraight.
