MR HOOPER
Bumped heavily by ALAMAK on jumping and thereafter, shifted outwards and made contact with GREEN STAR. Had to be checked and shifted outwards near the 400m to avoid the heels of ATTENTION, which had suffered interference.
Rider, when questioned, stated that after the gelding was tightened at the start, he then raced in restricted room for some distance and had to settle further back than anticipated. He added that on straightening, he was placed in an awkward position behind interference, which occurred in front of him, and had to shift to the outside to avoid this and obtain clear running. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

Permission was granted for Jockey O Placais to replace Jockey M Rodd on ATTENTION as the latter was unable to make the weight. Jockey Rodd was subsequently fined a sum of S$200 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).

App WS Chan, the rider of GREEN STAR, in the presence of his Master's B Trainer, Mr G Forbes, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that approaching the turn near the 800m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, leaving insufficient room to the runners to the inside, being DAVID'S SLING and SIAM BLUE VANDA. As a result of this incident, both horses were severely crowded. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his poor record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Chan was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 10 September 2018 to Tuesday, 25 September 2018 both dates inclusive (four Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey A Collett, the rider of REVOLUTION, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 500m, she permitted her mount to shift outwards, whilst riding it along, making contact with LIM'S PRIDE, which checked and shifted outwards, resulting in ATTENTION having to be severely checked across the heels of GREEN STAR. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account her record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Collett was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 10 September 2018 to Friday, 21 September 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of her Right of Appeal.

Jockey G Boss, the rider of SIAM BLUE VANDA, was fined a sum of S$1000 for breaching MRA Rule 44(6) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
