STIPE'S REPORT
ERAGON
Checked near the 300m.

CHAIRMAN
When queried by the Stewards, Trainer DL Freedman confirmed that the gelding would be ridden in a more forward position today and this was subsequently released to the public. Subsequently settled outside of the leader.

Near the 200m, had to be steadied and changed course to avoid MCGREGOR, which shifted inwards under pressure.

Checked over the concluding stages.

MCGREGOR
Near the 1200m, had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SOUTHERN SPUR and in doing so, shifted outwards, resulting in MURRAYFIELD being checked.

Checked near the 1100m.

ROBIN HOOD
Bumped on the hindquarters near the 300m.

DICTON
Rider when questioned regarding the performance, explained that his instructions were to be in the first three or four, however, his mount was fractious in the barrier prior to the start being effected, and subsequently was slow to begin and therefore, settled in a rearward position. He added that he had also been given specific instructions by Trainer C Brown not to be caught up to the inside of horses as the gelding races better when outside of horses, and this was the reason why he made this run wide from the 600m.

Impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse returned not striding out freely. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

SOUTHERN SPUR
Rider became unbalanced on jumping.

Checked near the 1100m.

MURRAYFIELD
Passing the 300m, got its head up and shifted inwards abruptly when being steadied.

JUSTICE SMART
Checked over the concluding stages.

MR DUJARDIN
A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

¿
Due to a delay in the start time of Race 4, this race was put back ten minutes and rescheduled to start at 2030Hrs.

At a subsequent Inquiry, Jockey O Placais, the rider of CHAIRMAN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 1100m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, from a three wide position to a position one off the fence, thereby forcing MCGREGOR into a dangerous position when having to check to avoid the heels of SOUTHERN SPUR. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Placais that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Sunday, 02 September 2018, Friday, 07 September 2018 and Sunday, 09 September 2018. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 10 September 2018 until Friday, 21 September 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At a subsequent Inquiry, App CC Wong, the rider of ROBIN HOOD, in the presence of his Master, Trainer KS Tan, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that over the concluding stages, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, thereby causing JUSTICE SMART having to check, and crowding CHAIRMAN, which also had to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his poor record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App Wong that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Sunday, 02 September 2018, Friday, 07 September 2018 and Sunday, 09 September 2018. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 10 September 2018 until Sunday, 23 September 2018 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At a subsequent Inquiry, Jockey M Kellady, the rider of MR DUJARDIN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 300m, he allowed his mount to shift outwards, whilst pulling his whip through from his right hand to his left hand, and in doing so, he severely crowded ERAGON, which subsequently had to be checked after making contact with the hindquarters of ROBIN HOOD. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Kellady that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 02 September 2018. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 03 September 2018 until Sunday, 09 September 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
