Began awkwardly.

ARC TRIUMPH
On jumping, was bumped by HAYTHAM, which in turn made contact with PURE JUSTICE. Was carried wider making the turn into the straight when ALARANCH hung outwards.

SO CALLED
Was bumped by DASH shortly after the start, which in turn had been bumped heavily by BAYMAX, which was carried inwards by BEST WISHES, which jumped awkwardly inwards.

WHISTLING WIN
Steadied when momentarily crowded near the 150m between HAYTHAM and ROYAL FORTUNE, which rolled outwards.

BEST WISHES
Jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped BAYMAX.

PURE JUSTICE
Which was slightly slow to begin, bumped by MY HORSE, which jumped awkwardly outwards. Then lost ground after being bumped heavily by ARC TRIUMPH, which in turn had been bumped by HAYTHAM, which jumped awkwardly inwards.

SUNDAY, 04 FEBRUARY 2018:

RACE 10 [TF0162]

On Tuesday, 20 March 2018, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for DARSHINI (App CC Wong) having to check when racing to the inside of CHAIRMAN (M Kellady) and to the outside of TWICKENHAM (App R Zawari) and MAJESTIC MOMENTS (N Juglall) passing the 250m. It was established that passing the 250m, DARSHINI was checked when crowded for room between CHAIRMAN, which shifted inwards under pressure and TWICKENHAM, which initially shifted outwards under pressure, before being carried outwards by MAJESTIC MOMENTS. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken. However, Jockey Juglall was warned and told to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

FRIDAY, 23 FEBRUARY 2018:

RACE 1 [TF0238]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Monday, 19 March 2018, App Y Salim, the rider of RACING TALENT, in the presence of his Master, Trainer D Kok, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) in that whilst riding RACING TALENT in Race 1 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 23 February 2018, from the 800m to the 400m, he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards when he failed to improve his position when it was reasonable and possible to do so. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the nature of the charge. App Salim was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Monday, 19 March 2018 to Friday, 18 May 2018 both dates inclusive (a period of two months). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

FRIDAY, 02 MARCH 2018:

RACE 8 [TF0275]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 23 March 2018, App T See, the rider of DECRETO, in the presence of his Master, Trainer J O'Hara, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding DECRETO in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 02 March 2018, approaching the 800m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, thereby resulting in SUGARTIME JAZZ (R Woodworth) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App See that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 30 March 2018 and Sunday, 01 April 2018. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 02 April 2018 until Sunday, 08 April 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 23 March 2018, Jockey I Saifudin, the rider of SOUTHERN MAN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SOUTHERN MAN in Race 5 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 16 March 2018, near the 600m, he allowed his mount to shift outwards, when insufficiently clear, thereby resulting in WONDERFUL ERA (A Munro) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Saifudin that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 30 March 2018 and Sunday, 01 April 2018. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 02 April 2018 until Sunday, 08 April 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SUNDAY, 18 MARCH 2018:

RACE 3 [TF0352]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 23 March 2018, Jockey I Saifudin, the rider of PERFECT COMMANDO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding PERFECT COMMANDO in Race 3 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 18 March 2018, shortly after passing the 1100m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when not sufficiently clear, resulting in SUGARTIME JAZZ (R Woodworth) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Saifudin was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 09 April 2018 to Sunday, 15 April 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

This penalty will be served consecutively following the completion of his suspension from Monday, 02 April 2018 until Sunday, 08 April 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days).


RACE 3 [TF0352]

On Tuesday, 20 March 2018, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for FRAGRANCE EMPIRE (M Ewe) having to check when racing between ROYAL DIWAN (App S Shafrizal) and COUNTRY BOSS (App CC Wong) approaching the 1000m. It was established that near the 1000M FRAGRANCE EMPIRE was checked when crowded between COUNTRY BOSS, which shifted inwards after being bumped by SECRET SQUIRREL and ROYAL DIWAN which rolled outwards. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.


RACE 5 [TF0354]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 23 March 2018, App S Noh, the rider of MR SCORSESE, in the presence of his Master, Trainer J Saimee, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MR SCORSESE in Race 5 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 18 March 2018, near the 400m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when not sufficiently clear, resulting in DARCI CHARMER (O Placais) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App Noh that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 30 March 2018 and Sunday, 01 April 2018. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 02 April 2018 until Sunday, 08 April 2018 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
