STIPE'S REPORT RACE 6 [TF917] ASIAN YOUNG GUNS CHALLENGE (1ST LEG) CLASS 4 SC (D) 1200M Acting on veterinary advice that LEGS ELEVEN (App M Ewe) was found to have exhibited signs of respiratory distress, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered its withdrawal. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again. MR MERCIFUL (App HS Gill) jumped away awkwardly. SCHMEICHEL (App TR Barnabas) and GUTSY BOXER (App ML Yeung) bumped on jumping. DARWIN (App G Banno), which jumped away awkwardly, was crowded by RECYCLE KING (App J Mallyon), which jumped inwards and TAKESHI (App SH Low), which jumped outwards. RISING EXPECTATION (App S Mutaza) raced wide without cover throughout. DARWIN raced keenly passing the 600m and got its head up on a couple of occasions. Approaching the turn into the straight, MR MERCIFUL shifted out and away from the heels of MARYS SUCCESS (App K Matsuyama) and in so doing, carried RISING EXPECTATION wider on the track. The Farrier reported that SCHMEICHEL returned having cast its near-fore plate. App Mallyon, the rider of RECYCLE KING, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
