STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 1 (R731)

SPEED TRAIN which was down 18kgs in body weight and POWERFULLY which was up 26kgs in body weight since their last runs, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.

Acting on veterinary advice that POWERFULLY had cast its near hind plate and was unable to be reshod, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 12:54pm.

Shortly after the start, PAYBACK TIME was inconvenienced when tightened between JERAM NATURAL and POUND both of which shifted ground.

ELEGANT SPIRIT showed no early pace despite being urged.

TOWER OF STRENGTH raced keen in the early and middle stages.

Approaching 200M, POUND which was laying in, shifted in and brushed SPEED OF LIGHT.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SPEED TRAIN and RED CLIFF revealed no obvious abnormality. SPEED TRAIN was impounded.

A post-race veterinary examination of BRAVE KNIGHT revealed that the gelding returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet after a 2-week embargo) before being entered to race again.
