RACE 5 [TF657]
CLASS 4 1600M
Trainer L Laxon was fined S$200 each in terms of MRA Rule 34(2) by not declaring his rider for STRIKE ON (App TH Koh) and DUSTIN (I Saifudin) within the prescribed time at Declarations.
SAMURAI KID (S John) began awkwardly and then shifted outwards abruptly shortly after the start.
TAKESHI (O Placais), which was slow to begin, was inconvenienced when ARA KARA (M Gallagher) was carried outwards by BAY OF ISLAND (V Duric).
SAMURAI KID proved difficult to ride in the early stages and hung out badly making the turn near the 1300m, placing its rider at a distinct disadvantage.
Shortly after passing the Winning Post for the first time, ARA KARA shifted outwards away from BAY OF ISLAND and in so doing, made contact with SCHMEICHEL (B Vorster).
Near the 1200m, ZAC VELOCITY (App M Ewe), which was overracing, got its head up on a couple of occasions.
DERMAWAN (S Sam), which hung outwards badly on the turns, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.
Near the 600m, BE WITH YOU (O Chavez) checked when racing between ZAC VELOCITY and DERMAWAN, which shifted inwards abruptly.
GALLANT FORCE (D Beasley) was held up in the early part of the straight and had to be taken outwards approaching the 300m to obtain clear running.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SAMURAI KID which revealed no apparent abnormality. SAMURAI KID will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.
