As the start was effected, ANONYMOUS (O Chavez) and LIM'S REFORM (D David) were both restless in the barriers, resulting in ANONYMOUS losing considerable ground and LIM'S REFORM being slow to begin. Subsequent to the race, after reviewing the films and prior to the `All Clear¿ being given, the Stewards were of the opinion that ANONYMOUS and LIM'S REFORM were both not denied a fair start and ANONYMOUS and LIM'S REFORM were declared runners. ANONYMOUS will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

MR CROWE (V Duric) and LIFE IS GAMBLE (S John) both jumped away awkwardly.

DREAM COMES TRUE (O Placais) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Near the 700m, MR CROWE and MR FATKID (C Grylls) bumped.

Near the 450m, MR FATKID and MR CROWE again made contact.

AWATERE (R Shafiq) was held up and unable to improve between the 400m and the 200m.

Passing the 300m, Jockey M Kellady, the rider of GUILTY PLEASURES, dropped his off-side rein which he regained shortly thereafter.

Passing the 100m, DREAM COMES TRUE eased when tightened between AWATERE and CHALAZA (M Nunes), which rolled inwards slightly.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MR CROWE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

Jockey John, when questioned regarding the run of LIFE IS GAMBLE, stated that he rode his mount forward in the early stages. LIFE IS GAMBLE then had a tendency to race keenly in the middle stages, resulting in him racing in a slightly fast tempo than he had wanted. His explanation was noted.
