STIPE'S REPORT

Permission was granted for Jockey M Kellady to replace Jockey J Powell on WONDERFUL as the latter was unable to make the weight. Jockey Powell was subsequently fined a sum of S$200 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).

Trainer J O¿Hara was fined a sum of S$500 for failing to ensure that CASTOR (O Placais) was in the Pre-Race Holding Area within the prescribed time in terms of MRA Rule 109(1).

Prior to the start, GREAT SUN (D David) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

After arriving at the barrier, CASTOR had its saddle readjusted.

OLYMPIC ANTHEM (M Rodd), which was fractious in the barrier, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

PIONEER SEVEN (TH Koh) was restless in the barrier. Trainer ZL Mok was advised that a warning has been placed on PIONEER SEVEN regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

PIONEER SEVEN lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

WONDERFUL and GREAT SUN were both slow to begin.

SEBAS (App Y Salim) and LINCOLN ROAD (V Duric) bumped on jumping.

SUN PIONEER (App CC Wong) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped the hindquarters of NOVA SWISS (M Nunes).

Shortly after the start, WONDERFUL and CASTOR bumped.

Between the 1000m and the 900m, WONDERFUL raced tight to the inside of OLYMPIC ANTHEM.

Approaching the 800m, WONDERFUL then shifted inwards and away from OLYMPIC ANTHEM and as a result, had to be eased off the heels of GOOD NEWS (R Woodworth). WONDERFUL then got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance.

Shortly after passing the 800m, SUN PIONEER had to be eased when awkwardly placed to the inside of NOVA SWISS.

Making the turn into the straight, GREAT SUN had to be eased after laying outwards onto the heels of GOOD NEWS.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on OLYMPIC ANTHEM which revealed no apparent abnormality.

Jockey Nunes, when questioned regarding the run of NOVA SWISS, stated that the gelding never travelled well and failed to respond when placed under pressure. In his opinion, he also believed that NOVA SWISS may benefit from having a spell from racing for a period of time. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NOVA SWISS which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GREAT SUN which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(5), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of five months, and may not start in any race for a period of six months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder¿s test.
