SECRET MISSION (S Sam), which was difficult to be loaded into the barrier,
will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race
again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).
CAVALLO (S John) was bumped on jumping by SECRET MISSION, which
jumped away awkwardly. Shortly after, SECRET MISSION was then bumped
by SUN PIONEER (App CC Wong), which jumped awkwardly inwards.
THE NUTCRACKER (App MM Firdaus) jumped away awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, GOOD NEWS (R Woodworth) was crowded when
racing between THE NUTCRACKER and WONDERFUL (J Powell), which was
inclined to lay inwards away from THE GENERAL (N Juglall). WONDERFUL
then commenced to race keenly for some distance.
Near the 700m, ROYAL RULER (B Vorster) became unbalanced after being
bumped by WONDERFUL, which laid outwards.
SUN PIONEER, which raced wide throughout, laid outwards making the turn
into the straight.
Jockey Powell, when questioned regarding the run of WONDERFUL, stated
that the gelding travelled well in the early stages. He added that
WONDERFUL failed to respond to his riding from the 500m and was
disappointing over the concluding stages. His explanation was noted. A
subsequent veterinary examination was requested on WONDERFUL which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
Jockey Vorster, when questioned regarding the run of ROYAL RULER, stated
that the gelding travelled well in the early stages, however, after receiving a
bump and becoming unbalanced approaching the 700m, his mount failed to
respond to his riding and ran on only fairly in the homestraight. His
explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested
on ROYAL RULER which revealed no apparent abnormality.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on THE NUTCRACKER
which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule
92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks
of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race
for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed
a bleeders test.
