STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 11 [TF0347]
OPEN BENCHMARK 67 LC (B) 1400M

To avoid a clash with the start times of overseas simulcast races which had
been rescheduled, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to
start at 1800Hrs.

ROCK EAGLE (M Nunes) was slow to begin.

PUSAKA (App I Amirul) was crowded on jumping between BIG MAN (J
Powell), which jumped inwards and RED ANT (App CC Wong), which jumped
outwards at the start.

IRON MAN (B Vorster) was buffeted on jumping between KEEPITUP (G Boss),
which jumped inwards and DANCE IN THE WIND (D David), which jumped
outwards at the start.

KEEPITUP and DANCE IN THE WIND were both difficult to settle in the
backstraight.

RED ANT raced wide throughout.

Shortly after passing the 200m, KEEPITUP had to be eased after shifting
outwards and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of OPTIMUS (V
Duric). KEEPITUP again had to be eased shortly after when disappointed for
a run and carried inwards by OPTIMUS, which, when giving ground, shifted
inwards and away from IRON MAN. PUSAKA, which was following, was also
inconvenienced in this incident.

Jockey Duric, the rider of OPTIMUS, reported that the gelding had returned
with its saddle having shifted back during the race, thereby placing him at a
disadvantage throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon also confirmed that
OPTIMUS had returned with the saddle having slipped back during the race.

Jockey Nunes reported that ROCK EAGLE was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DANCE IN THE WIND
which revealed no apparent abnormality. Jockey D David will be questioned
regarding the riding of DANCE IN THE WIND at a date to be fixed.
