STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 9 [TF0234]
CLASS 4 1200M
DIVISION 2

After arriving at the barrier, LETS TALK NOW (App CK Ng) had its saddle
readjusted.

DRACO (G Mosse) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

RAINBOW ROYAL (A Munro) which jumped awkwardly inwards bumped
heavily with SOUTHERN CHIEF (O Chavez), which jumped awkwardly
outwards.

CHAMPAGNE REIN (App R Zawari) and MUSCULAR DRAGON (O Placais)
bumped on jumping.

Approaching the 1000m, LETS TALK NOW had to be eased to avoid the heels
of PALTROW (M Nunes), which shifted inwards after having to be eased off
the heels of DELFYNE.

CHAMPAGNE REIN raced keenly in the early stages.

Near the 900m, MUSCULAR DRAGON checked when racing to the inside of
DELFYNE (App Z Zuriman), EL CAMINO (S John) and the outside of HERO I
AM (M Kellady) and LIMS CASINO (D Beasley). An Inquiry into this incident
will be held at a date to be fixed.

DELFYNE raced wide throughout.

Near the 700m, PHIDIAS (R Woodworth) checked when racing to the inside
of LETS TALK NOW. RAINBOW ROYAL which was following was also
inconvenienced. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be
fixed.

DRACO was held up and unable to improve between the 500m and the
400m.

Shortly after passing the 350m, App Zawari, the rider of CHAMPAGNE REIN,
dropped his whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping
his whip may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

Over the concluding stages MUSCULAR DRAGON had to be eased when
awkwardly placed on the heels of DELFYNE.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIMS CASINO which
revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on EXCELLENT ONE (TH
Koh) which revealed that the gelding returned with a cut on its near-fore leg.

GENERAL

SINGAPORE JANUARY MEETING 2017
SUNDAY, 15 JANUARY 2017:

RACE 4 [TF0092]

On Monday, 13 February 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for RED GENERAL (S Anandan) being checked when racing to the
inside of IMPERIAL BOY (S John) and ASTROSPEED (App S Shafrizal)
approaching the 800m. It was established that approaching the 800m, RED
GENERAL, which was racing tight to the inside of IMPERIAL BOY, was
checked when crowded by that gelding, which rolled inwards slightly when
being steadied off the heels of SUN MIRAGE (App CC Wong), which had
shifted in slightly to avoid the heels of ARION. In the circumstances, no
blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was
taken.

SINGAPORE JANUARY MEETING 2017
FRIDAY, 20 JANUARY 2017:

RACE 3 [TF0101]

On Tuesday, 14 February 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for OCEAN MASTER (TH Koh) and TURQUOISE KING (M Nunes)
having to check when racing to the inside of OREILLY BAY (App Z Zuriman)
and OWHAT A FEELING (J Powell) near the 1000m. It was established that
near the 1000m, TURQUOISE KING checked when crowded for room by
OCEAN MASTER, which when overracing and proving difficult to ride, shifted
inwards after bumping with OREILLY BAY on a number of occasions. When
being checked, TURQUOISE KING was further crowded by OCEAN MASTER,
which in turn was crowded by OREILLY BAY, when that gelding was carried
inwards by OWHAT A FEELING, which changed stride and then laid inwards
abruptly, despite the efforts of its rider to straighten the gelding. As a result
of the crowding, TURQUOISE KING lost further ground and OCEAN MASTER
was checked. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any
rider and as such, no further action was taken.

SUNDAY, 29 JANUARY 2017:

RACE 3 [TF0126]

On Tuesday, 14 February 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for FAITHFULLY (M Ewe) having to check and NOVA MISSILE (M
Nunes) being hampered when racing to the inside of PURE JUSTICE (G

FAITHFULLY, which was slightly slow to begin, had to be checked when
crowded between PURE JUSTICE, which initially shifted inwards and NOVA
MISSILE, which shifted outwards and away from NATURAL IMPULSE (I
Saifudin), which shifted outwards abruptly. As a result, NOVA MISSLE
bumped FAITHFULLY and became unbalanced. In the circumstances, no
blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was
taken. However, Jockey Mosse was warned and advised that he must

RACE 10 [TF0161]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Wednesday, 15 February 2017, App CK
Ng, the rider of UNSURPASSED, in the presence of his Masters B Trainer, Mr
Garry Clutterbuck, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA
Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding UNSURPASSED in Race 10 run at the
Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Monday, 30 January 2017, near the 1000m,
he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in
HOST THE NATION (R Woodworth) having to be checked. When deciding on
penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of
interference and carelessness and submissions from App Ng that he has been
engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 17 February 2017
and Sunday, 19 February 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his

reasons for Jockey N Juglall, the rider of RUSTY BROWN, being dislodged
approaching the 700m. It was established that after passing the 900m, the
tempo of the race slowed. As a result, THANKFULNESS, which was racing
keenly, became awkwardly placed on the heels of MONTAIGNE for a number
of strides passing the 800m, with RUSTY BROWN, which was following, and,
racing slightly to the outside of THANKFULNESS, becoming awkwardly placed
close to the heels of that gelding. Shortly thereafter, RUSTY BROWN clipped
the heels of THANKFULNESS and almost fell, resulting in Jockey Juglall being
dislodged. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider
and as such, no further action was taken.

established that near the 800M LIMS RACER, which was racing keenly, was
eased to avoid the heels of LADRONE which shifted inwards. In the
circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no
further action was taken. However, Jockey Kellady was warned and advised
that he must exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
