STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 2 [TF0227]
RESTRICTED MAIDEN 1400M
WEIGHT FOR AGE
(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

After arriving at the barrier, PARAGON STAR (R Woodworth) had its saddle
readjusted.

HEPHAESTUS (A Munro) and SUPER G (App I Amirul) were both slow to
begin.

ALAMAK BOY (App R Zawari) and ISTANA (D David) bumped heavily on
jumping.

Shortly after the start, STAR INVINCIBLE (O Placais) rolled outwards making
contact with ALAMAK BOY. ALAMAK BOY then had a tendency to overrace in
the early stages.

PARAGON STAR raced wide throughout.

ALAMAK BOY raced wide from the 800m.

REDOUBT laid outwards under pressure over the final 200m.

Near the 100m, STAR INVINCIBLE was taken to the inside of REDOUBT, to
obtain clear running.

Jockey Boss, when questioned regarding REDOUBT racing in a more forward
position, stated that it was his intention to race just off the pace and after
beginning fairly he rode his mount initially in an attempt to maintain a
position just off the pace. However, with no early pace from other runners,
he then found himself leading. Thereafter, he maintained a moderate tempo
with only fair sectional times. His explanation was noted.
