RACE 1 [TF0163]
CLASS 5 LC (C) 1400M
DIVISION 1
ASPEN (M Nunes) lost ground when crowded at the start between TENMA (D
Beasley) and THE RAID (G Boss), which was bumped inwards by MOZART
ECLIPSE (K AIsisuhairi) when that gelding jumped awkwardly inwards.
AEOLUS (A Munro) and LADY LIBERTY (G Mosse) bumped on jumping.
PUSONG PINOY (V Duric) jumped away awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, AEOLUS was crowded when buffeted between Q NINE
MAGIC (App R Zawari) and LADY LIBERTY.
ONE O NINE (TH Koh) raced wide throughout.
ASPEN was held up and unable to improve between the 600m and the 400m.
Approaching the 400m, Jockey S Anandan, the rider of EMPEROR WARRIOR,
dropped his off-side rein. Whilst Jockey Anandan was regaining it, EMPEROR
WARRIOR shifted inwards making contact with THE RAID, resulting in
EMPEROR WARRIOR then becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of THE
RAID for a short distance.
Near the 300m, AEOLUS checked when racing between ONE O NINE to its
outside, which rolled inwards slightly and MILITARY ALLIANCE (App I Amirul),
which shifted outwards and away from THE RAID, which rolled outwards
marginally.
MOZART ECLIPSE laid inwards over the final 50m.
The Farrier reported that EMPEROR WARRIOR returned having cast its near-
fore plate.
All riders returned to scale an average of 1kg overweight due to the weather
conditions.
Trainer L Khoo, when questioned regarding the apparent improved
performance of LEE MAN (B Vorster), stated that the gelding, which trialed
well recently, had been kept fresh in the lead up to this race. He added that
whilst LEE MAN had been working well, todays win was unexpected. His
explanation was noted.
