RACE 8 [TF0131]
WINDFALL STAKES
KRANJI STAKES D LC (B) 1400M
DIVISION 2
Assistant Trainer S Ellis, when questioned regarding the significant
increase in the body weight of MR CLOONEY (M Nunes), stated that the
gelding had returned from a lengthy spell and had built up significantly
during this time. He added that MR CLOONEY was, in his opinion, fit to
start. A Pre-Race veterinary examination passed MR CLOONEY fit to race.
SPECIAL FORCE (App MM Firdaus) which was slightly slow to begin, was
inconvenienced shortly after when JOHNNY HATES JAZZ (App S Shafrizal)
and MAREA NEGRO (N Juglall) jumped inwards. SPECIAL FORCE, then lost
ground after being severely crowded between JOHNNY HATES JAZZ and
PLATOON (A Munro), which had been carried outwards by PEER GYNT
(App CC Wong).
MOMENT OF JUSTICE (G Mosse) jumped away awkwardly and shifted
inwards making contact with COLONEL LINCOLN (J Powell). MOMENT OF
JUSTICE and COLONEL LINCOLN were then crowded when HONGCHEN
(App Z Zuriman) shifted inwards and LUCKY MISSION (B Vorster), which
jumped awkwardly outwards.
AUSSIE EAGLE (V Duric) and THREE LIONS bumped on jumping.
SPECIAL FORCE had a tendency to overrace in the early and middle
stages.
Passing the 1100m, THREE LIONS eased when racing tight to the inside
of AUSSIE EAGLE and HONGCHEN, which rolled outwards slightly.
PEER GYNT raced wide throughout.
MR CLOONEY was held up for clear running in the early part of the
straight.
Over the concluding stages, MR TRY (G Boss) and HONGCHEN bumped
for a number of strides when HONGCHEN was carried outwards by
MOMENT OF JUSTICE, which shifted out and away from LUCKY MISSION,
when that gelding shifted outwards under pressure.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MUSCULAR
DRAGON (D Beasley) which revealed no apparent abnormality.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on COLONEL
LINCOLN which revealed no apparent abnormality.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on THREE LIONS
which revealed that the gelding returned with a cut on its near-hind leg.
