STIPE'S REPORT RACE 5 (R553) ITMAYBEYOU, a course scratching as it was lame off fore, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being entered to race again. FREE SPIRIT raced keen in the early and middle stages. THE ABLE ONE commenced to hang out badly from the 900M and took the turn very wide. THE ABLE ONE then veered further out and as a consequence, Jockey WK Yan became unbalanced and was dislodged entering the home straight. To prevent further delay, Jockey WK Yan was exempted from weighing in. It was later established that the bit on the gelding broke at about the 900M resulting in Jockey WK Yan being unable to control his mount. Jockey WK Yan was subsequently stood down by the Club Medical Officer. Post-race veterinary examinations of FREE SPIRIT and TATIK revealed no obvious abnormality.
