FLAX 2013 STAKES
CLASS 4 POLYTRACK 1200M

Acting on veterinary advice that BLACK MAGIC (D Beasley) was found to be
lame off-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1318Hrs. In
terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary
Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

TOTALITY (App K Toh) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

FLYING SHADOW (S John), which was slightly slow to begin, made contact
with the hindquarters of MEAISIN (M Chadwick) on jumping.

TOTALITY raced keenly in the early stages.

FLYING SHADOW and MCGREGOR (A Munro) both raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 350m, MEAISIN checked when racing between MCGREGOR
and PREFERRED (A Da Silva). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a
date to be fixed.

Approaching and passing the 200m, PREFERRED and MCGREGOR raced
tightly and brushed on a number of occasions.

For the majority of the homestraight, PALLADIO (N Juglall) laid inwards,
resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten the gelding on a
number of occasions.

Jockey M Kellady, the rider of LONGHU, reported that it was not his intention
to lead, however, after being caught wide early, he elected to go forward and
take the leading position.
