An objection was lodged by Jockey F Yap and Trainer R Jensen, the rider and trainer of
MISTER MIYAGI respectively, placed fourth against KUTTNER (S Ruzaini), being
declared the winner, on the grounds of alleged interference on several occasions from the
200M mark. After considering the evidence, the Racing Stewards were of the opinion that
the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled
and the result stood.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of KUTTNER, pleaded guilty
to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that approaching the 200M
on 2 occasions, he allowed his horse to shift in resulting in interference to MISTER
MIYAGI and PIUS TOUCH (M Wepner). KUTTNER continued to shift in over the final
stages resulting in SATELLITE KING being placed in restricted racing room and having
to be checked by its rider.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Ruzainis guilty
plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record, submissions on penalty and the degree of
interference. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) Malaysian race
days with effect from 31 October 2016 and to expire on 19 November 2016, both dates
inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (4pm).
