RACE 1 [TF1466]
KRANJI STAKES D 1400M
BROTHER WIND (G Boss) and NEOS CLASSIC (M Ewe) bumped on jumping.
MOMENT OF JUSTICE (M Nunes) was slow to begin.
HIGH COUNCIL (O Placais) jumped awkwardly inwards making contact with
SOLITAIRE (M Kellady).
Shortly after the start, CONVICT (Ms D Johnson) was buffeted heavily
between DIVERGENT (N Juglall) and MIGHTY GLORY (B Vorster), which was
inclined to lay inwards. CONVICT then had to be eased when tightened for
room between DIVERGENT and MIGHTY GLORY, which was carried inwards
slightly by HIGH COUNCIL, which shifted inwards abruptly.
Near the 1100m, NEOS CLASSIC shifted outwards bumping SOLITAIRE and
carrying that gelding wider on the track. At about the same time, BROTHER
WIND got its head up on a number of occasions when overracing.
Approaching the turn into the straight, BIMALA (App CC Wong) was held up
on the heels of HORSE WARRIOR (CW Brown) and unable to improve.
MR FATKID (M Rodd) was held up for clear running in the early part of the
An Objection was lodged by App Wong, the rider of second placegetter,
BIMALA, against LUCKY STRIDE (D David), being declared the winner, on the
grounds of interference over the final 200m. After deliberation and
considering all of the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion
that near the 200m, LUCKY STRIDE laid outwards under pressure, carrying
BIMALA outwards slightly. BIMALA then shifted inwards making heavy
contact with LUCKY STRIDE, which had continued to lay outwards. BIMALA
and LUCKY STRIDE both became unbalanced and made contact again.
Taking into account the alleged interference and the manner in which both
horses finished off the race, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that
the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. As such, the
Objection was overruled and the result stood.
Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both MOMENT OF
JUSTICE and MIGHTY GLORY which revealed no apparent abnormality.
