STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 9 [TF1168]
CLASS 4 LC (A) 1600M

Prior to the running of Race 9, Trainer C Brown advised the Stewards that his
instructions to Jockey CW Brown, the rider of APOLLO, if circumstances
permit, to try and ride in a forward position.

CITY OF KIRKWALL (App I Amirul) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

BANDIDO (A Munro) was slow into stride.

SONG TO THE MOON (B Vorster) jumped away awkwardly and made contact
with WHOSE ELSES (V Duric).

Approaching the 1200m, CITY OF KIRKWALL, which was racing keenly, had
to be eased off the heels of BANDIDO, which in turn steadied off the heels of
SONG TO THE MOON, which shifted inwards to the inside of KINGS RYKER (M
Nunes).

APOLLO overraced in the early and middle stages.

Near the 1000m, CITY OF KIRKWALL, which was racing greenly, made
contact with HIGHER SOUL (K AIsisuhairi), which rolled outwards slightly.

LIKA TIGER (D David) had difficulty obtaining clear running between the
500m and the 200m.

Approaching the 200m, Jockey David, the rider of LIKA TIGER, dropped his
whip. He was subsequently warned that a repetition of dropping his whip
may lead to a penalty being imposed in future.

Approaching the 100m, Jockey Vorster, the rider of SONG TO THE MOON,
had his whip knocked out of his hand by the whip of Jockey Duric, the rider
of WHOSE ELSES when racing tight to the outside of WHOSE ELSES.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MARTIN (App Ms S
Carr) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

ADDENDUM

DRUGS OF ABUSE TESTING HUMAN URINE
RANDOM SAMPLES: 13 JUNE 2016

11 human urine samples from the above-mentioned date were received for
analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

All samples were analysed and the sample with Sample Coding No. J-3530,
which was taken from Mr Anthony Alan Lane (STR120), a Senior Trackrider
from Trainer D Meaghers Stables, revealed the presence of Phentermine, in
excess of the threshold limits in the Rules and thereby defined as a
prohibited substance under the MRA Rules of Racing.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Thursday, 08 September 2016, Mr
Anthony Alan Lane, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule of Racing
136(3)(b) in that the urine sample he provided on Monday, 13 June 2016,
upon analysis, was found to contain Phentermine, a prohibited substance
under the MRA Rules of Racing.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty
plea and the nature of the prohibited substance and also that Mr Anthony
Alan Lane had been prescribed medication from a Doctor, which had
contained Phentermine. In addition, Mr Anthony Lane had duly declared the
medication when presenting himself to provide the sample. Stewards also
took into account that Mr Anthony Alan Lane had been stood down from
riding trackwork from Wednesday, 20 July 2016. As such, Mr Anthony Alan
Lane was suspended from riding in trackwork with effect from Wednesday,
20 July 2016 to Monday, 19 September 2016 (a period of two months). He
was advised of his Right of Appeal.
