RACE 11 [TF0915]
KRANJI STAKES C POLYTRACK 1200M
Prior to the start, FAMOUS ARTIST (CW Brown) was examined by the
Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.
RICH FORTUNE (D Bealsey), which cast its off-fore plate, had to be reshod
behind the barrier causing some delay.
SPLICE (App CS Chin) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped LEE BANK (S
John). LEE BANK was then bumped by GHOST (App WS Chan), which
jumped awkwardly outwards. Shortly thereafter, GHOST and LEE BANK both
had to be steadied when crowded between SPLICE and CASTOR (App T See),
which shifted outwards.
Shortly after the start, FAMOUS ARTIST eased to avoid the heels of EAGLE
STORM (E Aslam), which shifted inwards.
Near the 700m, KATAGAS (G Boss) and BLUE DIAMOND (O Placais) were
both crowded for room when racing to the inside of FAMOUS ARTIST, which
was carried inwards slightly by CASTOR.
GHOST hung outwards rounding the hometurn.
GHOST, RICH FORTUNE and SPLICE all raced wide throughout.
Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that it had not affected the placings,
Jockey Beasley and App Chin, the riders of RICH FORTUNE and SPLICE
respectively, were both reminded of their obligations to ride their mounts out
fully to the end of the race.
Jockey Brown reported that FAMOUS ARTIST was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination confirmed this.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on EAGLE STORM which
revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it
will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any
racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a
period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a
