RACE 11 [TF0882]
HELLO COLOMBO STAKES
OPEN BENCHMARK 67 1600M
Due to a delay in the start time of Race 10, this race was put back five
minutes and rescheduled to start at 1810Hrs.
After arriving at the barrier, DAMON (M Nunes) had its saddle readjusted.
RAMZES (M Zaki) was slow to begin.
DAMON lost ground on jumping between SAND BANK (CW Brown) and
MURRAYFIELD (A Munro), which shifted inwards and away from SIAMESE
CAT (N Juglall).
MY BROTHERS KEEPER (D Beasley) and LIMS AFFECTION (G Boss) both
raced keenly in the backstraight.
Approaching the 300m, FIGHTING WARRIOR (App T See) and TURQUOISE
KING (R Shafiq) bumped when FIGHTING WARRIOR was attempting a
narrow run to the inside of SAND BANK, which rolled inwards. This resulted
in FIGHTING WARRIOR and TURQUOISE KING bumping for a number of
strides and FIGHTING WARRIOR then having to be eased off the heels of
RAMZES, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial
and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NANDOWRA (S John)
which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule
92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks
of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race
for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed
a bleeders test.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on FIGHTING WARRIOR
which revealed no apparent abnormality.
SINGAPORE MAY MEETING 2016
SUNDAY, 15 MAY 2016:
RACE 7 [TF0638]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 10 July 2016, App R Rueven, the
rider of LAUGHING GRAVY, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule
44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LAUGHING GRAVY in Race 7 at the Singapore
Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 15 May 2016, near the 300m, he directed his
mount outwards, when not sufficiently clear of TWICKENHAM (V Duric),
thereby bumping that gelding outwards, resulting in TWICKENHAM losing its
rightful running and having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the
Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of
interference and carelessness. App Rueven was suspended from riding in races
with effect from Monday, 11 July 2016 to Sunday, 17 July 2016 both dates inclusive
(two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
SINGAPORE JUNE MEETING 2016
SUNDAY, 19 JUNE 2016:
RACE 9 [TF0795]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 10 July 2016, Jockey G Boss, the

in that whilst riding WELL DONE in Race 9 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting
on Sunday, 19 June 2016, approaching the 300m, he allowed his mount to
shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of BELIEVE YOURSELF (A Munro),
resulting in that mare having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the
Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference
and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Boss that he has been
engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Sunday, 10 July 2016,
Friday, 15 July 2016 and Sunday, 17 July 2016. The Stewards determined to
suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the
commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 18 July
2016 until Sunday, 24 July 2016 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race
Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
