RACE 2 [TF0100]
RESTRICTED MAIDEN LC (D) 1400M
WEIGHT FOR AGE
(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 1, this race was put back forty
minutes and rescheduled to start at 1930Hrs.

BIG GUARDIAN (A Munro) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, THE WIND (E Chaves) shifted outwards after making
contact with ELITE STAR (J Powell) and in so doing, bumped UNION JAC (M
Kellady).

Near the 1200m, GOLAZO (Jockey K AIsisuhairi) steadied off the heels of
UNION JAC, which rolled outwards. GOLAZO then raced keenly for a short
distance.

Passing the 1000m, DOUBLE DOUBT (B Vorster) steadied outwards away
from the heels of BORN A FIGHTER (CW Brown).

GOLAZO was held up and had difficulty obtaining clear running between the
500m and the 400m.

THE WIND laid outwards between the 200m and the 100m.

Jockey Vorster, when questioned regarding the run of DOUBLE DOUBT,
stated that after a good beginning, the gelding travelled well until near the
500m whereupon DOUBLE DOUBT failed to respond to his riding and did not
run on as he would have expected. His explanation was noted. A
subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DOUBLE DOUBT which
revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.
