MOHD RIZUAN SHAFIQ STAKES
NOVICE 1100M

Due to a delay in the start time of Race 7, this race was put back five
minutes and rescheduled to start at 1650Hrs.

KATAGAS (M Rodd) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped SUN MIRACLE
(App WS Chan).

Shortly after the start, GUILTY PLEASURES (J Powell) eased when crowded
between SUN MIRACLE and RIVER OF GOLD (App MM Firdaus), which was
carried outwards slightly by NOVA EAGLE (App Y Salim).

RIVER OF GOLD was difficult to settle in the backstraight.

GOLD CROWN (N Juglall) and UNSURPASSED (M Nunes) both raced wide
throughout.

Approaching the turn into the straight, COURT CASE (O Chavez), which was
attempting to take a run to the inside of SUN MIRACLE, had to be eased
when crowded by SUN MIRACLE, which shifted inwards.

Over the concluding stages, KATAGAS eased when crowded for room
between GUILTY PLEASURES and RIVER OF GOLD, which shifted outwards
under pressure.

Jockey Nunes reported that UNSURPASSED was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination confirmed this.

Jockey Chavez, when questioned regarding the poor performance of COURT
CASE, stated that his mount appeared to resent racing in restricted room to
the inside of SUN MIRACLE throughout and in addition, he had to ease his
mount when crowded approaching the turn into the straight. Thereafter,
COURT CASE was disappointed and failed to run on. His explanation was
noted. COURT CASE was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical
examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
