RACE 1 [TF1536]

JE PEUX (R Fradd) was restless in the barrier. Trainer S Burridge was advised that a warning has been placed on JE PEUX regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

FORTUNE EIGHT (S John) was slow to begin.

Near the 1500m, VANQUISH (R Woodworth) steadied when MR SHOWPIECE (KK Ng) rolled outwards and NOBLEMAN (J Moreira) was carried inwards slightly by LUCKY MAN (App M Ewe), which shifted inwards away from HENA (App J See).

NOBLEMAN raced wide without cover throughout.

Approaching the homestraight, HUNGARIAN (B Vorster) had to be restrained after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of JE PEUX. As a consequence, SUPREME GENERAL (V Sivan), which was following, checked outwards to avoid the heels of HUNGARIAN and in so doing, crowded FORTUNE EIGHT, which checked.

VANQUISH hung inwards in the straight placing its rider at a disadvantage.

HENA, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LUCKY MAN which revealed no apparent abnormality. LUCKY MAN, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.

Following the running of Race 1, Jockey Din Azis, the rider of ATOMIC CANNON, was examined by the Course Medical Officer who declared him unfit to fulfil his remaining riding engagement.
