STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 8 (R1335) CLASS 5 1600M (Long Course A)

Trainer T Jackman was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the
declared colours on PURE RABID.

Upon jumping, GRAND SHOW (App WK Lee) was tightened for room when FLYING
AHEAD (App W Faizal) jumped inwards and LITTLE MAN (App S Shafrizal) jumped
outwards, and lost ground.

Approaching the 1200M, UNME (App M Hanif) had to ease off the heels of KIM WARRIOR
(R Burnett) when that gelding shifted in closer to the rails and as a result of this incident,
POWER IN HAND (HS Gill), KING FAALCON (M Wepner) and BLUE DELAGO (App
AK Lim) had to be checked by their riders.
At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey R Burnett, the rider of KIM WARRIOR, pleaded
guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) whilst riding KIM
WARRIOR in this race, at approximately the 1200M, he allowed his horse to shift in when
insufficiently clear of UNME (App M Hanif) and as a result UNME had to be eased by its
rider resulting in POWER IN HAND (HS Gill), KING FAALCON (M Wepner) and BLUE
DELAGO (App AK Lim) being checked by their riders.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey R Burnetts guilty plea,
mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended
from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 9 November
2015 and to expire on 21 November 2015, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of
Appeal (6:10pm).

Approaching the 1000M, QI POWER (A Nawawi) raced fiercely and had to be eased off the
heels of PURE RABID (S Ruzaini).

Racing to the 1000M, FLYING AHEAD rolled in marginally and as a result, ALACARTE
had to be eased by its rider.

Approaching the 900M, FLYING AHEAD (App W Faizal) shifted inwards momentarily
resulting in ALACARTE (J Low) being taken inwards and POWER IN HAND (HS Gill) was
inconvenienced of this incident.

The Stewards questioned Trainer D Murphy and App KP Lim, the Trainer and rider of
ANOTHER SON respectively, into the disappointing performance of the gelding. Trainer D
Murphy explained that he had freshened the gelding up during the week as it was backing up
from its previous run and could offer no explanation into the disappointing performance.
App KP Lim stated that he placed ANOTHER SON under pressure at the 900M, however, it
failed to respond to his riding. The Stewards noted their comments for future reference. A
post-race veterinary examination of CHAMPAGNE ROSE revealed no significant finding.

GENERAL REPORT(S) - SLTC

RACE 5 (1293) CLASS 3 1200M (SHORT COURSE A), SATURDAY, 31 OCTOBER
2015, SELANGOR TURF CLUB OCTOBER MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 4 November 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into
Jockey L Sofhans ride on LUWAK COFFEE. Evidence was taken from Jockey L Sofhan and
Trainer Anna Scott, the rider and Trainer of LUWAK COFFEE respectively.

After viewing the official patrol films of this event and considering the evidence tendered, the
Stewards acting on their own observations, Jockey L Sofhan pleaded guilty to a charge under
MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the
charge were that from approximately the 450M mark until the winning post, he failed to show
sufficient vigour in his riding style and whip use to ensure the horse, LUWAK COFFEE
finished in the best possible placing.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey L Sofhans guilty plea,
mitigating factors, previous good riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was
suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from 9 November
2015 and to expire on 8 January 2016, both dates inclusive. Acting on the provisions of MRA
Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of Jockey L Sofhans suspension to
allow him to fulfill his riding engagements this weekend. He was advised of his Right of
Appeal (11:45am).

Jockey L Sofhan subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of
Sentence. The Stewards considered the application for a stay which was allowed. The

The Stewards questioned App AK Lim, the rider of HIGH TENSILE, in the presence of his
Master, Trainer WC Lim and Trainer Anna Scott, the Trainer of HIGH TENSILE, into the
riding tactics that were adopted on HIGH TENSILE in the home straight.

The Stewards were not satisfied that App AK Lim showed sufficient vigour over the final
300M. After viewing the official patrol films and taking into consideration evidence tendered
by all parties, the Stewards acting on their own observations, did not take any action against
App AK Lim as the horse, HIGH TENSILE, did not have a tendency to lay in slightly which
