STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 6 (R775) Class 4 1400M (Short Course A)

Upon jumping, VECTIS (J Keating) shifted in abruptly, severely checking DIRAC (Lou Ho),
SILVERON WINGS (WK Yan) and DASHFUL (WH Lao).

App S Shafrizal, the rider of HAPPY CHOICE, reported that his horse over-raced.

Approaching the 250M mark, DIRAC was held up and had to be checked by its rider when
TEEN ANGEL (App AM Aizat) shifted outwards and VECTIS had a tendency to shift
inwards under pressure and had to be checked by its rider and shifted inwards to gain clear
running and ran home strongly.

SPIN FIRE (App KC Wong) had to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages.

The The Stewards questioned Jockey B Doyle and Trainer D Murphy, the rider and Trainer of
LET IT ROCK respectively, as to the disappointing performance of the gelding. Jockey B
Doyle explained that in the early stages, due to the no pace in the event, he elected to
progress forward, however in doing this, he found himself 3 wide throughout the event. He
stated that approaching the 400M, the insider runners commenced to improve and he was
unable to quicken and when he placed the gelding under pressure over the final 300M, the
gelding failed to respond to his riding.
Trainer D Murphy concurred with the Stewards observation that it was a disappointing
performance and he expected a forward showing in todays event and LET IT ROCK had
worked extremely well throughout the week. He informed the Stewards that the gelding may
not appreciate the good ground and may be suited to softer surfaces. He further explained that
he will take the blinkers off the gelding and access its racing future. Their explanations were
noted for future reference. A post-race veterinary examination of LET IT ROCK revealed no
significant finding.

The Stewards questioned Jockey Lou Ho and Trainer F Maynard, the rider and Trainer of
DIRAC respectively, as to the disappointing performance of the gelding. Jockey Lou Ho stated
that he raced midfield as per the instructions from the Trainers Instructions Form, however
entering the front straight, he had to check his mount when attempting a run between runners,
shifted inwards to gain clear running and ran home well.
Trainer F Maynard explained that the gelding was from a wide barrier and it was unable to
gain a forward position, and he believed that this was a very strong race. He also stated that he
could offer no real reason apart from his jockeys comments. Their explanations were noted
for future reference. A post-race veterinary examination of DIRAC revealed no significant
finding.
