STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 6 (R376) Metro A 1400M (Long Course B)

Trainer F Maynard was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing
to confirm with App KC Wong prior to declaring him on YASTRZEMSKI. The Stewards
granted permission for App AM Aizat to be the rider of YASTRZEMSKI.

The announcement of correct weight was delayed when Jockey Lou Ho, the rider of CRAZY
CLUB, and Trainer S Edwards, the Trainer of CRAZY CLUB, wished to view the patrol
films. After doing so and deciding not to lodge an objection, the All Clear was given.

On jumping, CRAZY CLUB (Lou Ho) shifted outwards resulting in YASTRZEMSKI (App
AM Aizat) and MONEY MACHINE (J Noske) bumping for a short distance.

Approaching the 1000M, DEVILS CUT (J De Souza) shifted inwards resulting in CRAZY
CLUB being inconvenienced.

The Stewards questioned Jockey Lou Ho, the rider of CRAZY CLUB, and Trainer S Edwards,
the Trainer of CRAZY CLUB as to the racing tactics adopted on that gelding over the final
300M of this race in particular as to why he failed to continue to improve to the inside of
HARRYS PAL (App CC Wong). Jockey Lou Ho explained that in his opinion, he believed
HARRYS PAL had a tendency to shift inwards which may have hampered him and CRAZY
CLUB was reluctant to take this run. Trainer S Edwards agreed with Jockey Lou Hos
explanation.

The Stewards, after viewing the official patrol films and acting on their own observation, took
no further action, however, advised Jockey Lou Ho that in hindsight, given the ½ length
margin between the 2 runners, he should have persevered to continue to improve to the inside
of HARRYS PAL rather than shifting outwards in an endeavour to gain clear running. His
explanation was noted for future reference.
