STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 9 [TF1188]
PANASONIC KRANJI MILE
SPORE-G1 LC (A) 1600M

SPALATO (M Nunes) jumped away awkwardly and shifted outwards bumping
QUECHUA (CW Brown) out onto EMPERORS BANQUET (N Juglall).

Passing the 1000m, WILD GEESE (M Kellady) and SPALATO made contact on
a number of occasions when racing tight on the inside of SLEW OF LODE (J
Powell).

Approaching the 800m, SPALATO steadied off the heels of SLEW OF LODE,
which shifted inwards.

App K AIsisuhairi, the rider of PACHELBELS CANON, reported that the
gelding had returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race.
This was subsequently confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon.

The Farrier reported that SPALATO returned having cast its off-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on PACHELBELS CANON
which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule
92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks
of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race
for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed
a bleeders test.

Jockey Nunes, when questioned regarding the run of SPALATO, stated that
the gelding did not begin as well as usual and in addition, it travelled only
fairly. He further stated that it was disappointing and failed to run on as
expected after being placed under pressure in the straight. His explanation
was noted. SPALATO was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical
examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
