App T See, when questioned regarding THUNDER CAT losing considerable
ground on jumping, stated that just prior to the start being effected,
THUNDER CAT turned its head to the side. This resulted in THUNDER CAT
jumping away awkwardly and losing ground. Whilst noting his explanations,
he was advised that he would be expected to make a greater effort to
straighten his horses head in similar circumstances in future. A subsequent
veterinary examination was requested on THUNDER CAT which revealed that
the horse returned not striding out freely. THUNDER CAT, which was slow to
begin and raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the
barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
