RACE 9 [TF1129]
OPEN BENCHMARK 67 SC (E) 1200M
DIVISION 1

Acting on veterinary advice that MY BROTHERS KEEPER (App P Dellorto) was
found to be lame, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1834Hrs.
In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official
Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.

After arriving at the barrier, GOLDEN TOMAHAWK (CW Brown) had its saddle
readjusted.

STRAIGHTTOTHEPOINT (App R Rueven) and SACRED SPIN (App CK Ng)
brushed on jumping.

Near the 1100m, SMART PEOPLE (O Chavez) and LUCKY MISSION (R
Woodworth) made contact for a short distance.

Passing the 800m, VON KRUMM (M Rodd) had to be steadied across the
heels of BACHS AIR (M Nunes), which shifted inwards. This resulted in
GOLDEN TOMAHAWK being carried wider and losing further ground.
STRAIGHTTOTHEPOINT also had to be steadied in consequence. Shortly
after, LUCKY MISSION and KAISER (KB Soo) both were inconvenienced by
GOLDEN TOMAHAWK, which continued to lose ground.

Approaching the turn into the straight, LUCKY MISSION was held up and
unable to improve.

SMART PEOPLE had difficulty obtaining a clear run between the 200m and
the 150m.

Passing the 300m, LUCKY MISSION momentarily steadied to the inside of
GOLDEN TOMAHAWK, which shifted inwards slightly.

Shortly after passing the 200m, VON KRUMM was carried wider when BACHS
AIR shifted outwards under pressure.

LUCKY MISSION was held up on the heels and unable to improve over the
final 50m.

SINGAPORE AUGUST MEETING 2015
FRIDAY, 14 AUGUST 2015:

RACE 9 [TF1019]

On Wednesday, 09 September 2015, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into
the reasons for LIMS PERFECT (App K AIsisuhairi) having to check when
racing between ALLEZ (B Vorster) to its inside and CONVICT (App R Rueven)
and POSEIDON (CW Brown) to its outside near the 1100m. It was
established that approaching the 1000M, LIMS PERFECT and ALLEZ, which
were racing tightly, brushed on a number of occasions. Near the 1000m,
LIMS PERFECT, which shifted outwards after making contact with ALLEZ, had
to be checked when crowded for racing room between ALLEZ, which shifted
outwards slightly, and, CONVICT, which initially shifted inwards before being
taken in slightly by POSEIDON. In the circumstances, no blame could be
attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

RACE 3 [TF1039]

The Inquiry into the run of FREE HAPPY in Race 3 at the Singapore Turf Club
Meeting on Sunday, 16 August 2015 was concluded on Wednesday, 09
September 2015. App CK Ng, the rider of FREE HAPPY, in the presence of his
Master, Trainer M Walker, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10)
in that he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards whilst riding FREE
HAPPY, from the 1600m until near the 800m, he allowed his mount to race at
a tempo, which in the opinion of the Stewards, was too fast and
unsatisfactory. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account
his record, guilty plea, the nature of the charge and submissions from App
Ng that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on
Friday, 11 September 2015 and Sunday, 13 September 2015. The Stewards
determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule
48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on
Monday, 14 September 2015 until Tuesday, 13 October 2015 both dates
inclusive (a period of one month). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SUNDAY, 23 AUGUST 2015:

RACE 2 [TF1074]

The Inquiry into the run of LIMS BULLET in Race 2 at the Singapore Turf
Club Meeting on Sunday, 23 August 2015 was concluded on Wednesday, 09
September 2015. App R Firdhaus stated that his instructions were to try and
begin well, then from the wide barrier, to gain cover and settle back in the
field. Adding that he was to improve his position rounding the hometurn and
ride his mount along in the straight in an effort to run on. App Firdhaus
further added that after jumping away well, he restrained his mount early in
an effort to gain cover. However, his mount raced greenly and had a
tendency to shy away from other runners. He then eased to the outside
after passing the 800m and in doing so, his mount commenced to lay
outwards from near the 700m and continued to lay outwards until he had
entered the homestraight. Trainer S Burridge confirmed the instructions. In
addition, Trainer Burridge tendered the result of the Post Race veterinary
examination of which it was reported that LIMS BULLET was lame in its off-
side knee. Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that there was insufficient
evidence to sustain a charge, App Firdhaus was advised that Stewards had
concerns with his riding in the early and middle stages, and, whilst
understanding that riders must endeavor to ride to instructions, he must ride
in a manner so as not to arouse query. Trainer Burridge was warned that he
must report to the Stipendiary Stewards as soon as he becomes aware of
any matter that may have affected the performance of his horses in the race.
As LIMS BULLET was found to be lame in its off-side knee, it will be required
to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination
prior to being declared to race again.

Ruzaili, the rider of GOLDEN CURL, in the presence of his Master, Trainer S
Gray, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule
44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding GOLDEN CURL in Race 9 at the Singapore
Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 30 August 2015, near the 400m, he shifted
outwards, when not sufficiently clear of MINGS MAN (App Z Zuriman),
resulting in that gelding being taken wider on the track and having to be
checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his
record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness. App Ruzaili
was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Wednesday,
09 September 2015 to Sunday, 13 September 2015 both dates inclusive (two
Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
