RACE 9 [TF0884]

Due to the heavy downpour and lightning in the vicinity of the Race Course
prior to Race 9, this race was put back five minutes and rescheduled to start
at 1705Hrs.

LION BAROWS (S Sam) was restless in the barrier. Trainer H Takaoka was
advised that a warning has been placed on LION BAROWS regarding its barrier
manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

GOLDEN TOMAHAWK (App H Syafiq) was severely crowded on jumping
between BELLUS WONDER (M Kellady) and TERMINATOR (App T See), which
jumped awkwardly outwards.

BEST NINE (M Esposito) was slow into stride.

NEUTRINOS (App CC Wong) and ZAC COMMAND (App CK Ng) both raced wide

BEST NINE had a tendency to lay outwards approaching the turn into the

Shortly after making the turn into the straight, GOLDEN TOMAHAWK was
disappointed for a run between IMPERIAL BOY (App J See), which laid
outwards and MEXBOROUGH BOY (O Chavez), which laid inwards.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that TERMINATOR returned lame off-fore.
TERMINATOR will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary
examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BEST NINE which
revealed no apparent abnormality.

All riders returned to scale an average of 1kg overweight due to the weather

Jockey Chavez, the rider of MEXBOROUGH BOY, when questioned regarding
racing in a more forward position than at its previous start, stated that he had
ridden the gelding for the first time at its previous start and that after jumping
from the inside barrier, MEXBOROUGH BOY was reluctant to stride out early,
and thereafter appeared to resent the kickback and was not comfortable
racing inside of other runners. As such, today, with the weather conditions,
he had anticipated more kickback and therefore he rode his mount
aggressively on jumping, thereby racing in a more forward position. He
further stated that being mindful that the horse may resent kickback when
crossed by two other runners, he elected to come to their outside and raced in
the clear in a three wide position. His explanation was noted.
