After arriving at the barrier, LUCKY NINE (B Prebble) had its saddle
LUCKY NINE jumped away awkwardly.
KIWI KARMA (M Nunes) and ZAC SPIRIT (J Moreira) brushed on jumping.
KIWI KARMA then shifted inwards making contact with AEROVELOCITY (Z
Shortly after the start, HOTOTO (L Morris) blundered when racing tight
between RICH TAPESTRY (O Doleuze) and MAGNETO (N Juglall), which
shifted inwards slightly.
Approaching the 800m, LUCKY NINE eased when cramped for racing room
between EMPEROR MAX (C Brown) and AEROVELOCITY. Jockey Purton was
subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater
care when shifting ground in future.
Near the 700m, LUCKY NINE then got its head up and laid outwards slightly.
ZAC SPIRIT then improved to its inside into a tight run to the outside of
EMPEROR MAX. This resulted in LUCKY NINE being carried outwards slightly.
At the same time, MAGNETO was carried inwards when HOTOTO shifted
inwards. LUCKY NINE then made contact with the hindquarters of MAGNETO,
turning that gelding inwards, thereby severely crowding LUCKY NINE, which
checked and lost ground. After consideration into all the circumstances, the
Stewards believed they could not substantiate a charge of careless riding,
however, Jockey Moreira was warned and told to ensure there is sufficient
room when attempting runs. Jockey Morris was warned and advised to take
greater care when shifting ground in future.
Making the turn into the straight, EMPEROR MAX and HOTOTO brushed.
ZAC SPIRIT was momentarily held up making the turn into the straight.
LUCKY NINE was held up and unable to obtain a clear run between the 300m
and the 200m.
Jockey Purton, the rider of AEROVELOCITY, was fined a sum of S$500 for
making a celebratory gesture prior to the Finish in terms of MRA Rule 44(12).
The Farrier reported that ZAC SPIRIT returned having cast its off-fore plate.
