PENANG TURF CLUB TROPHY LC (C) 1400M
NOVICE

The Panel of Stewards granted permission for JUST NAME IT (J Powell) to be
withdrawn after being advised that it had the incorrect handicap weight.

SKY WALKER (I Saifudin), which began awkwardly, shifted inwards and
bumped MR NICHOLSON (A Munro) shortly after the start.

SHANGHAI BUND (M Rodd) began awkwardly.

Near the 1300m, SKY WALKER, which was proving difficult to settle, lost
ground when crowded slightly between BOURNE ACADEMY (App K Toh) and
MR NICHOLSON, which shifted outwards. SKY WALKER continued to prove
difficult to settle for some distance thereafter.

MR NICHOLSON raced keenly in the early stages.

BOURNE ACADEMY raced wide from the 1200m.

SKY WALKER had a tendency to hang outwards rounding the hometurn.

Near the 400m, ELUSIVE EMPEROR (B Vorster) and LIZAZ (CW Brown)
bumped when ELUSIVE EMPEROR was attempting to take a run when there
was insufficient room between MASURAO (App K AIsisuhairi) and LIZAZ.
Jockey Vorster was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned
to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Approaching the 200m, MR NICHOLSON had to be steadied and changed
course outwards after being disappointed for a run between LIZAZ and
SHANGHAI BUND.

Jockey Brown, when questioned regarding the performance of LIZAZ, stated
that the gelding travelled well throughout, however, when ELUSIVE
EMPEROR shifted outwards to improve and made contact with his mount,
LIZAZ was immediately under pressure and did not finish the race off as
expected and in his opinion, was disappointing. His explanation was noted.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIZAZ which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
