RACE 8 (R1315)
SIR TIKI, a course scratching as it had sustained a stone-bruised near hind, will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
SUPER LINK which was up 29kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
BRAHMS RETURN was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, CONSTIDAAD was inconvenienced on the outside of SAINT ARC which rolled out.
SUPER LINK raced keen in the early and middle stages and threw its head up on several occasions in the back straight.
Passing the 200M, BRAHMS RETURN which was laying in badly, shifted ground inwards, carrying RAGS TO RICHES in onto SAINT ARC which in turn had to steady off the heels of SOVIET SNIPER which was shifting out at that stage of the race. BRAHMS RETURN continued to lay in badly for the remainder of the race despite the effort of its rider and made contact with RAGS TO RICHES on several occasions. App HS Gill, the rider of BRAHMS RETURN, was shown the video and was warned that in future he would be expected to change his whip to his left hand under similar circumstances. A post-race veterinary examination of BRAHMS RETURN revealed no obvious abnormality.
ELECTRIFYING which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
Jockey Din Azis, the rider of CITY VISION, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CITY VISION revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
