CARBON COPY, a non-acceptor which suffered conjunctivitis right eye, will be required
to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DROGBA, a course scratching as it had sustained a nail prick off fore foot, will be
required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptors, YAN SANDRA and HINT, were scratched to run in alternate race.
This race was re-scheduled to start at 3.20 pm.
Trainer F Maynard was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce
the declared colours on CALIFORNIA CAT (J De Souza).
MR RAFFLES (Y Aify), which stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground, will be
required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
Near the 500M, HARRYS PAL (M Wepner) checked. An inquiry into this incident will
be held at a date to be fixed.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MR RAFFLES and CALIFORNIA CAT revealed
no obvious abnormality. MR RAFFLES, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a
test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Prior to the All Clear being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey M Wepner, the
rider of HARRYS PAL, placed 5th, against BALOTELLI (F Yap), placed 2nd, on the
grounds of alleged interference near the 500M. After considering the evidence, the
Racing Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the
result of the race. The objection was overruled and the result stood.
When questioned regarding the performance of CALIFORNIA CAT, Jockey J De Souza
stated that he was instructed to ride a forward race but due to the bad barrier draw,
CALIFORNIA CAT was unable to cut across to race in a forward position. He said that
