STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 1 (R869) Class 5 1600M (lc-A)

Trainer PS Kumaran was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the
declared colours on DESERT SOUL.

UNME (K Eirwan) reared when the gates were released and lost ground, and thereafter raced
wide from the 1000M until entering the straight.

BIG SUR (J De Souza) over-raced in the middle stages of the race.

Racing to the 200M, DESERT SOUL (R Burnett) commenced to hang in and continued to
hang in for the remainder of the race and as a result its rider, Jockey R Burnett was unable to
ride the gelding out in his normal manner.

The Stewards questioned App R Fakruddin, the rider of ADMIRAL ROBERT, as to that
geldings performance today. App R Fakruddin confirmed his instructions were to be handy
which were confirmed by the Stewards from the Trainers Instruction Form. App R Fakruddin
stated that from his wide barrier, he was able to race forward and although he was racing 3
wide, he was able to take up a handy position. He further explained that from the 1000M,
ADMIRAL ROBERT settled to share the lead and from entering the straight, he drew the
whip from the 400M and that the gelding responded fairly but over the concluding stages after
having a hard ride, it weakened. His explanation was noted.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that ADMIRAL ROBERT returned having bled. In
terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training
tracks of any racecourse for a period of 2 months, and may not start in any race for a period of
3 months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeders test.
