Approximately 50m after the start, Jockey Nunes, the rider of JIMMY REA,
had to readjust his near-side stirrup iron.

An Objection was lodged by Jockey Vorster, the rider of fourth placegetter,
EVAS DAY, against GOLDEN TOMAHAWK, being the third placegetter, on the
grounds of interference near the 900m. After deliberation and considering all
of the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that near the
900m, EVAS DAY checked and lost ground to the inside of GOLDEN
TOMAHAWK, which shifted inwards. In this incident, EVAS DAY lost
approximately two lengths. Taking into account the alleged interference, the
manner in which both horses finished off the race and the finishing margin
between the horses, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the
alleged interference had affected the result of the race. As such, the
Objection was upheld and the result was amended to read:
1ST - MY LUCKY STRIKE
2ND - SEBAS
3RD - EVAS DAY
4TH - GOLDEN TOMAHAWK
5TH - JIMMY REA
6TH - APPELLATION
Shortly after passing the 800m, JIMMY REA, TOP GUN and HAPPY PRINCESS
(CW Brown) all lost ground when racing to the inside of GOLDEN
TOMAHAWK. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.
Approaching the 600m, HAPPY PRINCESS mis-strode and lost ground when
racing tight to the inside of TOP GUN. APPELLATION (App K AIsisuhairi),
which was following, had to be steadied outwards in consequence.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on TOP GUN which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
