STIPE'S REPORT
RACE 7 [TF1464]
CLASS 4 LC (C) 1600M

CITY OF KIRKWALL (App K AIsisuhairi) was slow to begin after jumping
away awkwardly.

CALIFORNIAN JET (J Low), which jumped away awkwardly, was difficult to
settle in the backstraight.

Approaching the 1000m, CALLIDE RIVER (B Vorster) commenced to race
keenly when steadied after being slightly crowded to the inside of TITANIUM
(CW Brown), which in turn had been racing to the inside of CALIFORNIAN
JET.

Near the 300m, App R Zawari, the rider of BLACK SNOW, had his whip struck
out of his hand by the whip of Jockey A Munro when racing tight to the inside
of SKY ELEVEN.

TITANIUM had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight and over the
concluding stages, made contact with IN FACT (J Powell), which laid
outwards slightly.

An Objection was lodged by Jockey Powell, the rider of second placegetter,
IN FACT, against TITANIUM, being declared the winner, on the grounds of
interference over the final 200m. After deliberation and considering all of the
evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that over the concluding
stages, IN FACT rolled outwards and TITANIUM shifted inwards, resulting in
both horses brushing and that the alleged interference had not affected the
result of the race. The Objection was overruled and the result stood.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on CALIFORNIAN JET
which revealed no apparent abnormality.
