RACE 2 [TF1412]
FLAX 2012 STAKES
RESTRICTED MAIDEN 1200M
WEIGHT FOR AGE
(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

GREAT SUN (CW Brown) was slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, BULLET (A Munro) blundered and shifted outwards
bumping YELLOW BIRD (O Chavez) onto GREAT SUN, which lost ground after
then having to be eased off the heels of REGAL RED (N Juglall).

Near the 1000m, GREAT SUN, which was racing keenly, shifted inwards.
YELLOW BIRD, which was following, then shifted outwards abruptly, resulting
in it losing ground.

Shortly after passing the 1000m, COLUMBIA (B Vorster) proved extremely
difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions.

Passing the 800m, SUPERSONICSURPRISE (L Allpress) was carried wider by
LIMS RALLY (KB Soo), which laid outwards.

Making the turn into the straight, PODE OURO (I Santana) became
unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by REGAL RED, which had
been carried outwards slightly by COLUMBIA.

Approaching the 400m, REGAL RED eased outwards away from the heels of
COLUMBIA, which was carried outwards by GREAT SUN when that gelding
shifted to the outside of FRENCH VINTAGE (D Beasley), which rolled
outwards marginally. Jockey Brown was subsequently shown the film of the
incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

REGAL RED laid inwards in the straight.

Jockey Soo, the rider of LIMS RALLY, was fined a sum of S$500 for making a
celebratory gesture prior to the Finish in terms of MRA Rule 44(12).

Jockey Santana reported that PODE OURO was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
