Acting on veterinary advice that CONGO ZANDOR (TH Koh) was found to be

terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary
Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.
Permission was granted for App MM Firdaus to replace App S Noh on
CHINESE CULTURE as the latter was unable to make the weight. App Noh
was subsequently fined a sum of S$500 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).
Prior to the start, BOGART (M Nunes) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon
and passed fit to race.
BILLY BRITAIN (App R Rueven), which was restless in the barrier, reared
when the start was effected resulting in that gelding losing considerable

being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

DANNY RICARDO (S John) was difficult to settle in the early stages.
AWAKENED, which was difficult to settle in the backstraight, made contact
with BOGART, near the 800m, resulting in AWAKENED being carried
outwards and then having to be eased off the heels of PERFECT CHALLENGER
(O Chavez), which rolled inwards slightly.
PERFECT CHALLENGER raced wide throughout.
Near the 700m, BILLY BRITAIN had to be steadied after racing up onto the
heels of BLUE LION.
Approaching the 500m, AWAKENED was carried wider on the track, when
BLUE LION shifted outwards when attempting to obtain clear running.
Passing the 300m, BOGART had difficulty obtaining a clear run and had to be
taken inwards to obtain clear running.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that AWAKENED bled. In terms of MRA
Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training
tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in
any race for a period of three months, and then only after having
satisfactorily passed a bleeders test.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BOGART which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
