RACE 9 [TF1184]
PANASONIC KRANJI MILE
SPORE-G1 1600M
HUAT CHAI (M Gallagher) lost ground after beginning awkwardly and then showed no early pace.
Near the 1400m, MR LINE (J Moreira) checked whilst racing between LOCUS STANDI (R Woodworth) and BIG MAVERICK (J Saimee). At a subsequent Inquiry, Jockey Saimee was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 1400m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, thereby crowding MR LINE, which checked and lost ground. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Saimee that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Friday, 25 September 2009. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Saturday, 26 September 2009 until Wednesday, 30 September 2009 both dates inclusive (three Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
QUIERO BAILAR (B Vorster) raced wide without cover throughout.
Approaching the 300m, QUIERO BAILAR and ROYAL STAR (R Stewart) were both hampered when HUAT CHAI shifted outwards.
BIG MAVERICK shifted outwards abruptly under pressure over the concluding stages.
Jockey D Beasley, the rider of JABAL TARIK, reported that his horse was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned lame near-fore. JABAL TARIK will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on QUIERO BAILAR which revealed no apparent abnormality. QUIERO BAILAR, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being entered to race again.
LOCUS STANDI was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
